“What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter – a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.”
Henri Matisse

Where do you go when you truly want to gain a sense of serenity?

Do you go out into the early morning to a quiet park?

Do you wait until others are asleep and relax in your living room?

Do you travel to a far off beach with few other travelers so that you can simply enjoy the beauty of nature?

One of my favorite and most peaceful times is in the early morning.  I like waking up a little early and take a moment to appreciate what I have.  I prop up comfortably in my bed while relishing in the first light of morning.  I may check email quickly and just bask in the quiet of the beginning of a new day.  I’m not yet troubled by any of the physical or mental toils I may have.

I also love looking at beautiful photos to escape and gain a sense of serenity. These gorgeous and quietly bold photographs by Hengki Koentjoro instantly gave me a feeling of the beauty and serenity of being alone and being at peace.  So maybe it is a good idea to keep a few photos around that give you a sense of peace – after all, isn’t it wonderful to have a sense of serenity?

Have a lovely week!

Those photos are so so very stunning!! I go to places in nature when I want to feel complete serenity. It’s where I find peace and quiet, no one talking…just the sounds of nature speaking. You can get away from tv’s, computers and other things that take up your time and just feel peace in the quietness of nature. It’s a must for me!! Have a gorgeous week doll, loved these pictures :))) xx
