Fashion Inspiration/Hot under {$100}: Polka dot dress inspired by Duchess of Cambridge

July 25, 2013

It’s been all about the Royal Baby this week.

When will the baby arrive?

Why did the baby come on such a hot day?

What will be the baby’s name?

Then the rest of us, who simply stared in wonder at the former Kate Middleton as she breezed out of the hospital with her perfect hair (note: her hairstylist made it happen!), thought “Wow, she looks awesome and that is a cute dress.”

Kate Middleton in Jenny Packham dress - saved by Chic n Cheap Living

Alas, sometimes only the very privileged get to wear cute dresses because that Jenny Packham dress was a custom made dress.  But don’t forgo those polka dotted dreams just yet!

I found a few easy and affordable polka dot dresses inspired by the Duchess’ look:

I gotta say I’m annoyed she doesn’t look more frazzled! She really is perfect.

I read that her hairdresser came in to fix her up before she left the hospital! Ahh yes to have a hairdresser on call!

i thought that polka dot dress was the cutest! It was very befitting. Simple. Minimalistic. This is a great shot of her shoes too. I really didn’t have a good look at them. I thought it was interesting both she and diana wore polka dot dresses. very interesting.

Since her dress was custom made, I have a feeling that she wanted to pay homage to Diana in some way (but in a dress/style that was her own).

of course she would have a custom made dress and look PERFECT one day after giving birth. But ah, to be a princess.

Haha, that was pretty much my exact thought process. Note to self: need to get a hair stylist involved when I go through this myself… Fab round up, I’m loving #2 especially!
